ERPNext for FMCG Distribution
Control batches, schemes, deliveries and collections across your distributor and retailer network from one system.
Book a DemoFast-moving goods need fast, accurate data
FMCG businesses sell high volumes at thin margins. A few expired cartons, a wrong scheme or a delayed collection can wipe out the profit on a large order.
ERPNext gives distributors and FMCG manufacturers a clear view of stock by batch and expiry, applies schemes correctly on every invoice, and shows outstanding amounts by salesperson and route.
Common problems we see
- Expired or near-expiry stock found too late
- Free goods and discount schemes applied wrongly on invoices
- Selling in cases, boxes and pieces with different prices
- Credit given beyond limits, and slow collections
- No daily view of sales by route, salesperson or retailer
How ERPNext helps FMCG businesses
Standard ERPNext features, set up for the way your industry works.
Batch and expiry tracking
Every batch carries its manufacturing and expiry dates. ERPNext can pick the oldest batch first and warn you before stock expires.
Schemes and free items
Set up promotional schemes such as buy 10 get 1 free, slab discounts or product bundles. They apply on the invoice automatically.
Multiple units of measure
Buy in cartons, store in boxes and sell in pieces. Conversion factors keep stock and prices correct in every unit.
Credit limits
Set a credit limit for each customer. Orders that go over the limit are held until someone with authority approves them.
Delivery planning
Group deliveries into trips by vehicle and route, and record proof of delivery against each invoice.
GST e-invoice and e-way bill
Generate e-invoices and e-way bills from the sales invoice itself, without logging in to separate portals.

Frequently asked questions
Can ERPNext pick stock by first-expiry-first-out?
Yes. With batch tracking turned on, ERPNext suggests batches by expiry date when you create a delivery note or pick list.
Can we run different schemes for different customer groups?
Yes. Pricing rules and promotional schemes can be limited to a customer group, territory, item group or date range.
Does it work for distributors with many branches or godowns?
Yes. You can run multiple warehouses and branches under one company, and see stock and sales for each one separately or together.
