ERPNext for Warehousing
Know what is stored where, move goods faster and keep stock records that match the shelf.
Book a DemoAccurate stock, every day
A warehouse runs on accurate records. When the system says ten units and the shelf has eight, orders get delayed and trust drops. As the number of locations and SKUs grows, paper and spreadsheets stop working.
ERPNext supports multiple warehouses with racks and bins, rules for where goods should be stored, pick lists for dispatch and regular stock counts. For third-party warehouses, we can set up client-wise stock and storage billing.
Common problems we see
- Stock in the system does not match stock on the shelf
- Staff spend time searching for goods
- No standard rule for where incoming goods should go
- Batch and expiry details missing at dispatch
- Client-wise stock and storage charges worked out manually
How ERPNext helps warehousing businesses
Standard ERPNext features, set up for the way your industry works.
Warehouse, rack and bin structure
Set up warehouses as a tree, down to zones, racks and bins. Stock reports can be seen at any level.
Putaway rules
Define where each item or item group should be stored. ERPNext suggests the location when goods are received.
Pick lists
Create pick lists from sales orders, grouped by location, so staff can collect goods in one round.
Batch and serial tracking
Track batches with expiry dates and serial numbers for high-value goods, from receipt to dispatch.
Stock reservation
Reserve stock against a sales order so it is not given to another customer by mistake.
Stock counts
Run full or cycle counts and post differences with a stock reconciliation entry and a clear audit trail.

Frequently asked questions
Can ERPNext manage stock for multiple clients in one warehouse?
Yes. Goods owned by your clients can be set up as customer-provided items, kept in client-specific locations. Storage billing is added as a customisation.
Does ERPNext support barcode scanning?
Yes. Items, batches and serial numbers can have barcodes, and you can scan them on receipts, transfers and deliveries.
Can we see stock ageing?
Yes. The stock ageing report shows how long items have been in each warehouse, which helps you find slow-moving goods.
