Control cost on site, and cash from buyers

Real estate projects run for years. Costs come from many contractors and suppliers, while money comes in from buyers in instalments linked to construction milestones. Without one system, it is hard to know the real cost and cash position of each project.

ERPNext tracks every project with its own budget, purchases, contractor bills and progress. On the sales side, it records leads, bookings and payment schedules for each unit. Rental properties can have recurring invoices.

Common problems we see

  • Project costs spread across many contractors and sites
  • Material sent to site but not tracked against the project
  • Buyer instalments and due dates tracked in spreadsheets
  • Budget overruns found only after the money is spent
  • Rental invoices raised late or missed

How ERPNext helps real estate businesses

Standard ERPNext features, set up for the way your industry works.

Project-wise costing

Each project or tower collects its own purchase, labour and contractor costs. Compare actual cost against budget at any time.

Site material

Raise material requests from site, transfer stock to the site store and record consumption against the project.

Contractor billing

Record contractor work orders and running bills, with retention and deductions where needed.

Leads and bookings

Track enquiries, site visits and bookings in the CRM. Convert a booking into a sales order for the unit.

Payment schedules

Link buyer instalments to milestones such as booking, slab completion and possession. Send reminders as each one falls due.

Rental invoicing

Create subscriptions for rent and maintenance charges so invoices go out on time every month.

Frequently asked questions

Can ERPNext track the status of each unit or flat?

ERPNext does not have a ready-made unit inventory. We add one as a customisation, showing each unit as available, booked or sold.

Can we set budgets for each project?

Yes. You can set budgets by cost centre or project and choose whether ERPNext should warn or stop when spending goes over.

Can buyers get payment reminders?

Yes. Payment schedules on the sales order can trigger email reminders before each instalment is due.
